The state of Texas has played an integral role in the U.S. space program. In addition to the home of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, a number of astronauts hail originally from the Lone Star state and many Texas colleges, universities, research institutions and companies have contributed to the space program over the past decades.
While most photographs of Houston's skyline are taken from the west side of downtown along Buffalo Bayou, the east-facing side of downtown Houston is equally attractive.
